The Royal Wedding Details!

"I, William Arthur Philip Louis, take thee, Catherine Elizabeth, to be my wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse," William vowed. "For richer, for poorer. In sickness and in health. To love and to cherish, till death us do part."

Today is the day ~ the Royal Wedding is finally here!  It's pretty much impossible to avoid with every news channel and media outlet covering every last detail.  So, I'm going to do the same...  Being in the wedding business and all, how could I not cover it?

Take a look at all the amazing details.  Did they measure up to expectations?

At the altar, saying their 'I do's'.  Such a beautiful couple!

A close-up of Kate.  She looks stunning in her Alexander McQueen dress!

The Princes, William & Harry, make their way into the church.  Who doesn't love a man in uniform?

The Queen makes her way into Westminster Abbey.  I'm loving this cheerful yellow outfit by Angela Kelly!

Prince Charles & Camilla Parker Bowles arriving at the wedding.

Kate's sister Pippa walking into the church with two of the bridesmaids, Grace & Eliza.

I love this color of Chelsy Davy's (Prince Harry's GF) dress!

What do you think of Victoria & David Beckham's outfits?  I think they could have been a bit more cheery...  It is a wedding after all.

And off the go, a married couple as they ride away in the royal carriage.

Going in for the 'balcony kiss' that was made famous by William's mom & dad aka Princess Diana & Prince Charles years ago.

And the actual kiss.  Awwwww!

Kate was stunning in her designed gown while William just as handsome in his military garb.  The guests dressed to the nines for the big day and everything seemed to go perfectly as planned.

I think the wedding was absolutely beautiful and as regal as expected!  What do you think?

Today's {A Little Something} comes from Celebrations at Home.

I just love the vintage look of this table.  It would make for a beautiful, intimate outdoor wedding reception table!

Leaving on a Jet Plane

This past weekend I was in NYC with one of my girlfriends and it was such an amazing time!  We caught up with old friends, made new friend, had amazing food, and just had a wonderful weekend full of girl time.

But, one negative of the weekend was that my suitcase broke... The top handle just ripped right off, so it's basically not functional.  Now I have an excuse to go shopping though, right??

In thinking about what kind of suitcase I want to buy, I am a little overwhelmed.  There are so many options and styles to pick from!  I definitely do not want basic black, but other than that I have no idea.

See?  It's overwhelming!

I could go vintagey.  Although wheels are probably a must for all the traveling I do.

I could spice things up with leopard print.  Definitely would never lose my bag!

How about bright orange leather?  It looks so luxurious and soft!

Polka dots?  As long as their subtle like these suitcases, it could be cute!

I'm kind of loving this one.  The red and the leather and it's waterproof?!  It may be 'the one'.

Which style do you like the best?  I'm going shopping tomorrow so would love all of your opinions!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!!

These Lights Will Inspire You

I NY!

This weekend (I know it's only Thursday but I leave tonight so it feels like the weekend to me!) I'm off to New York City with one of my girlfriends!  I haven't been in over a year and I'm so excited to explore the city.

I plan on eating some great food, drinking some fabulous drinks and having an amazing weekend in the city.

I'll also be on the lookout for lots of inspiration!  In the meantime check out these wedding pictures taken all around NYC.  I love them!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

A Little Blog Loving

Earlier this week, Laura of You Stir Me (an amazing blog - go check it out!) passed the One Lovely Blog Award on to me.  I love Laura's blog and read it daily, so I was honored that she thought of me!

So with this award you are supposed to list seven interesting facts about yourself and then pass the award on to 15 other bloggers.  So here it goes....

Whew, that was a little intimidating.  I don't usually put a ton of details about myself on this blog, so I hope you enjoy!

And for the 15 bloggers I'd like to pass this award on to...  Go check out all of these blogs - they're awesome and always inspiring!

It's Party Time

Spring is nature's way of saying, "Let's party!"
~Robin Williams

And isn't that true.  Spring has sprung and wedding season is officially here!  With Spring and wedding season comes lots of wedding planning, venue booking, cake tasting, and on and on.

While the actual wedding ceremony is the most important part of the day (it's the reason you have the whole event after all!), the reception is key.  This is the point in the day/night where friends and family can come together to celebrate the new bride and groom.  You have the first dance, the speeches, the food, the drinks and the celebrating into all hours of the night.

As a wedding planner one of my favorite pieces of a wedding to plan is the reception.  It is the place you get to be most creative and have some fun.

With the idea of receptions and planning in mind I started looking for some unique wedding reception set-ups.  I love how different some of these are and how the couples certainly made their reception their own.

When I first saw this picture on Erin Ever After, I immediately fell in love.
The colors, the style, the view ~ it has it all!

This couple went for a clean look with all white and pops of blue.
I think the white adds a nice, calming feel to the reception.

How pretty is this set up in a barn?  It's so simple and rustic.

This reception is so intimate with a picnic table set for six.
Such a fun idea for a low budget, small wedding!

This couple went with a wedding reception under the 'stars'.
It looks like a HUGE event!

What are some unique receptions you've been to?

A Little Something ~ #5

Today's {A Little Something} feature comes from a vintage inspiration board I created a while back.

I fell in love with these cake stands.  I think they're so pretty and add a great touch to a dessert table!

It's the Weekend!

It's finally Friday!  I don't know about you, but this week dragged on for me and I couldn't be happier the weekend is finally here!

I hope everyone has a great weekend and as much laughter and fun as these two :)

Ruffle Obsession

Lately it seems like everywhere you turn there are ruffles and I'm very okay with that!  I'm loving this trend and may be slightly obsessed with it.

So, how about ruffles for a wedding?

I just had to bring back those pink Louboutins!

I think all of these elements with ruffles together would be a little too much.  But, if done right with just a few pieces incorporating the ruffles, I think it'd make a beautiful wedding!

And Baby Makes Three

No, no I'm not pregnant!  BUT my cousin's beautiful wife, Holly, is and we celebrated her and the little one a few weekends ago.  Hannah (Holly's sister) and myself hosted a baby shower for her and had so much fun planning it!

Myself, Holly (cutest pregnant lady ever!) and Hannah

To help make this shower really special, Hannah and I decided to make everything ourselves (with help from our family of course).  I think it turned out great!

The dessert table, with a DIY cupcake stand & diaper cake

A close-up of the cupcake stand.  I got to reuse my doily cupcake wrappers too!

Oreo Ball 'lollipops' ~ so good!

The food table - so much yummy food made by all the women in our family.

The mini chalkboard signs for the food.

We used this calendar to play a game guessing the baby's due date.
Winner is TBD :)
Note: This idea came from Sass+Frass.

The centerpieces made by Hannah & Holly's mom.
How cute are these?

Our DIY garland with baby pictures of the mommy & daddy to be.

Opening up all the goodies for the little one.

He is going to be one well-dressed baby!

The favors (chocolate chip cookie mix) that Hannah & I put together for everyone.

It was such a fun and special day!  I'm so glad everyone could get togeher to celebrate this bundle of joy that's joining our family soon!!
