The Royal Hats -

"Fashion is a kind of communication. It's a language without words. A great hat speaks for itself."

British weddings have many traditions which the Royal Wedding followed. (i.e. A 'wedding breakfast' reception, the bridesmaids wearing white, Hen & Stag nights, bridesmaids are young, etc.)  And one English tradition that everyone observed was the over-the-top hats.

Ladies came out with hats in all shapes, sizes, colors and even some of the men followed suit.

What did you think of all of the hats?

The Queen in a bright yellow hat.  I think she was one of my favorites!

Carol Middleton - The Mother of the Bride

The Duchess of Cornwall aka Prince Charles' Wife looked lovely

Princess Anne - Prince Charles' younger sister matched her purple hat to her floral jacket.  A little much for my taste...

Princess Michael of Kent - I love this one!  Simple but still makes a statement.

Princess Letizia of Spain
I think this one is a too matronly and really ages her.

Chelsy Davy aka Prince Harry's gal.
I was disappointed in her choice... it was a little too understated.

Miriam Gonzalez
Love how fun & bright this one is!

Zara Phillips looking very sophisticated

Sophie, Countess of Wessex
This hat makes me wish we wore hats to weddings in the US so I could rock something like this!

And last, but not least, two of the most talked about hats from the Royal Wedding....
Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice
They're certainly my least favorites, but definitely memorable!

The Royal Wedding Details!

"I, William Arthur Philip Louis, take thee, Catherine Elizabeth, to be my wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse," William vowed. "For richer, for poorer. In sickness and in health. To love and to cherish, till death us do part."

Today is the day ~ the Royal Wedding is finally here!  It's pretty much impossible to avoid with every news channel and media outlet covering every last detail.  So, I'm going to do the same...  Being in the wedding business and all, how could I not cover it?

Take a look at all the amazing details.  Did they measure up to expectations?

At the altar, saying their 'I do's'.  Such a beautiful couple!

A close-up of Kate.  She looks stunning in her Alexander McQueen dress!

The Princes, William & Harry, make their way into the church.  Who doesn't love a man in uniform?

The Queen makes her way into Westminster Abbey.  I'm loving this cheerful yellow outfit by Angela Kelly!

Prince Charles & Camilla Parker Bowles arriving at the wedding.

Kate's sister Pippa walking into the church with two of the bridesmaids, Grace & Eliza.

I love this color of Chelsy Davy's (Prince Harry's GF) dress!

What do you think of Victoria & David Beckham's outfits?  I think they could have been a bit more cheery...  It is a wedding after all.

And off the go, a married couple as they ride away in the royal carriage.

Going in for the 'balcony kiss' that was made famous by William's mom & dad aka Princess Diana & Prince Charles years ago.

And the actual kiss.  Awwwww!

Kate was stunning in her designed gown while William just as handsome in his military garb.  The guests dressed to the nines for the big day and everything seemed to go perfectly as planned.

I think the wedding was absolutely beautiful and as regal as expected!  What do you think?

The Royal Ride

With the Royal Wedding quickly approaching in less than month, more and more details are being released/leaked.  The latest details include the wedding day carriage for Kate & Prince William.

Kate Middleton's Wedding Day Carriage Revealed | Kate Middleton, Prince William

The above horse-drawn carriage will take the couple from the Westminster Abbey.  This 109 year old State Landau is used by Queen Elizabeth when she is entertaining heads of state.  The open top of the carriage will allow well-wishers to view the couple as they travel to Buckingham Palace for their first wedding day party.

Although, with England being so prone to rain, they had to have a back-up plan of course.  So, if it does rain on their big day, they will instead ride in a glass coach which was used by Princess Diana on her wedding day.

Rain or shine, this royal couple will be riding in style!

A Royal Wedding - The Menu

Former royal chef Darren McGrady has started to make some predictions about the wedding day feast for Prince William and his soon to be Princess, Kate Middleton.  He is predicting a mix of traditional English fare and both William & Kate's favorites.  Whatever the menu winds up including, it's sure to be elegant and lovely!

Menu from Queen Elizabeth & Prince Phillips Wedding

For William and Kate, the menu predictions include:
  • A very simple affair unlike Charles & Di's wedding
  • A wedding breakfast offering champagne, canapés and heavy h'ors d'oeuvres after the 11a.m. wedding ceremony
  • A substantial dinner buffet at the evening reception with close family and friends, most likely consisting of British and Gaelic food
If only we could get an invite to check out the delectable spread!

A Royal Wedding

It was just announced that Prince William and Kate Middleton are engaged!  There goes the dream for all us 'normal' girls on becoming William's Princess...

LOOK OF LOVE photo | Kate Middleton, Prince William

There is already speculation that this wedding will be 'the biggest royal wedding since Charles & Diana's wedding'.  I can only imagine how fun it would be to plan such a large, real life fairytale wedding!
