[Trend Alert] - Cake Pop Cakes

When it comes to weddings, there are constantly new trends coming about (i.e. mason jars, 'vintage', birdcage veils, etc.)  Well, one of the latest trends I've been seeing all over is a cake pop cake.

I just can't decide if I love this trend... It could be fun to simply hand out the cake pops rather than cut up a cake and certainly makes clean up much easier.  But I think I love a traditional wedding cake too much to not have one.  Maybe this would work for the groom's cake?

What do you guys think?

The Burlap Trend

With the Fall wedding season underway (the first day of Autumn was September 23rd), it's pretty clear that burlap is the big trend this year.  And I just love how many different ways it can be incorporated into your big day!

For example, the wedding we had in Jacksonville two weekends ago used some these ideas.  The bride (and her mom) made table runners, square centerpieces, and wreaths with burlap.  Along with wine glasses, candles and flowers the burlap gave the perfect vintage, rustic feel for the reception.

So I decided to do a little more research and found some really great ideas for burlap wedding decor:

It's All About the Lace

Is it just me or does it seem like lace is everywhere these days?  It's showing up in clothes, accessories, shoes, decor and so on.  And I'm not going to lie, I absolutely love it!  I think lace is such a great way to make pieces look feminine and fun.  A little lace can go a long way to dress something up.

So, with this trend popping up all over the place I got to thinking how could you incorporate lace into your wedding?  I think you can add lace to just about anywhere you want:

The Dress
Have some lace on your hemline, all over or just as an accent belt.

On your feet
Flats or heels - there's options in all colors.

on the cake
I just love these lace appliques on these cakes.  The grey one is probably my favorite!

in the details

You can even use lace in the small details from the napkine rings to the invitations.

No matter how much or how little you want to use lace in your wedding decor, you'll be able to find lots of options.  Have fun using this beaufitul trend!
