Etsy Find - Cottage Creek Arts

Today's Etsy Find is Cottage Creek Arts.  Tammi, the owner, hand paints beautiful wedding signs.  They have a unique, vintagey feel and are the perfect touch for your wedding day.

Tammi is a self taught artistic who lives on a farm in Kentucky.  I asked Tammi to give us a little background on her and her artistic inspiration:

I am a self taught artist who never had any artistic talent that I knew of growing up, just a big imagination!  My first artistic ventures began with building furniture: benches, chairs, picture frames out of old barn wood. I then graduated into painting and would paint anything I could get my hands on. I use to be in a lot of craft fairs and have had my items in a few stores throughout my area. And then I found Etsy and haven't looked back since.

I then graduated into painting canvas'. My inspiration comes from God and I'm so blessed to be doing what I love and owe it all to Him, because like I said, this talent literally came from nowhere.

I am a bit of a perfectionist and much love and care goes into every piece of my artwork! It brings a lot of joy to me to know my work is being displayed in peoples homes throughout the world!

Tammi paints canvases that can be used as guest books including thumbprint trees (that are becoming so popular) and tree designs.  She also can do custom wedding signs.  Her creations are pretty amazing!

Thumbprint Tree Guest Books

Love this one for Fall!

As an alternative to the thumb print tree, these canvases come with the leaves painted on as places for guests to sign.

Guest Book Tree Canvases

I love the vintage buttons on this one!

Tammi has even more great designs in her Etsy shop that you should check out!  She can customize colors and designs for you as well.

Alternative Guest Books

At the wedding that we coordinated this past weekend, they had a very unique guest book.  In fact it wasn't really a book at all.  They had a 'wedding tree' where guests added a thumb print and signed their names.  I love this idea - you can frame it and have the memory as decor in your house rather than a book to flip through.

Please excuse the iPhone photography on this one.

Some other unique ideas for an alternative to the standard guest book:

Postcard Guest Book
Have guests mail you a postcard with their best wishes.  Or another idea is to simply place the postcards in a photo book rather than having people mail them.

Quilt Guest Book
Guests will sign pieces of fabric which can later be sewn into a quilt.

Dictionary (or any book) Guest Book
Use an old dictionary or any book that is relevant to you as a couple and ask guest to sign pages throughout.  Makes for a great coffee table book.

Photo booth Guest Book
If you have a photo booth at your wedding - place the print outs in a book and have guests sign that.  (Most photo booth companies offer this)

I'm sure there are many more options out there as well.  What are some unique guest books you all have seen?
