It's Party Time

Spring is nature's way of saying, "Let's party!"
~Robin Williams

And isn't that true.  Spring has sprung and wedding season is officially here!  With Spring and wedding season comes lots of wedding planning, venue booking, cake tasting, and on and on.

While the actual wedding ceremony is the most important part of the day (it's the reason you have the whole event after all!), the reception is key.  This is the point in the day/night where friends and family can come together to celebrate the new bride and groom.  You have the first dance, the speeches, the food, the drinks and the celebrating into all hours of the night.

As a wedding planner one of my favorite pieces of a wedding to plan is the reception.  It is the place you get to be most creative and have some fun.

With the idea of receptions and planning in mind I started looking for some unique wedding reception set-ups.  I love how different some of these are and how the couples certainly made their reception their own.

When I first saw this picture on Erin Ever After, I immediately fell in love.
The colors, the style, the view ~ it has it all!

This couple went for a clean look with all white and pops of blue.
I think the white adds a nice, calming feel to the reception.

How pretty is this set up in a barn?  It's so simple and rustic.

This reception is so intimate with a picnic table set for six.
Such a fun idea for a low budget, small wedding!

This couple went with a wedding reception under the 'stars'.
It looks like a HUGE event!

What are some unique receptions you've been to?

  1. I haven't really been to anything quite like these before...but that would be simply AMAZING!

  2. WOW that last photo is just amazing, I havent seen anything like that with the starry lights! Stunning! My sisters wedding is coming up and its on the beach, im excited for it, Ive never been to a wedding on the beach! We had our wedding over looking the water at a mansion, it was beautiful :) Great photos and tips.

  3. I love the idea of mixing light blue and white colour together. It gives such an amazing and fresh look. I also adore the barn look and Im totally smitten with the sweet picnic idea:) Awww...so romantic. Happy day, my dear

Ps: I’m hosting a charming necklace GIVEAWAY today! Hope you’ll join in:)
