Remembering

So you all have probably noticed my lack of posts in the past couple of weeks (other than the already scheduled - way in advance - A Little Something weekly posts).  Well I have a couple reasons, the first being I was in Prague with a girlfriend for a little vacay.  Such a fun trip and cool city to explore - I highly recommend it.

A little iPhone photography of the St. George Cathedral  - it's amazing what that little camera can do

So while I had an amazing trip and vacation, the other reason for my absence is a little more important and a little harder to write about.  After an amazing battle with cancer over the past two years, my wonderful aunt passed away.  It's been a sad, emotional week with my family but we all rejoice knowing she's in a better place and no longer in pain.

"Unable are the loved to die. For love is immortality." ~Emily Dickinson

My Aunt with one of her sons and his wife.  Such an amazing person.

As hard as it is to lose someone you love so much and who has been such a huge part of your life, it's always helpful knowing they are in a better place.  The past week has been a lot of tears but also a lot of story telling and remembering.  It's amazing to realize how much one person has impacted the lives of others.  My aunt was such a giving person and constantly did anything and everything for everyone else - anything to put a smile on your face and make you happy.

It's going to be hard not having her around or seeing her beautiful smiling face but I know she'll continue to provide for us and be her giving self as she smiles down on us.

In thinking of loved ones lost and knowing they can't physically be part of special moments in our life, I started thinking about ways to include them and remember them.  A friend of mine recently had a memory board or sorts at her wedding to recognize those who have passed.

Here are a few memory boards  I found during a quick search.

Am a couple other ideas as well:

I think remembering your loved ones, especially on a day as important and special as your wedding day, is important.  What do you guys think of these ideas?

Long Distance Love Story

I stumbled across this video on the blog exPress-o (check it out of you haven't - Diana has some seriously great posts!)

Below is a short video from JW Griffiths about two people coming together from different places.

I absolutely love it!

Happy Friday - here's to a wonderful weekend!

Mon Chéri

Oh Summertime in Paris - so amazing!  This time last year I was working in Paris and recently I've been reminiscing and wishing I was back there...

All of these pictures remind we of Summer and love in Paris - C'est romantique!

I love all of the outdoor cafes - délicieux

So romantic!

I could spend hours just wondering along the Seine.

There's something so magical about the Eiffel Tower

To just sit and ponder life like this would be wonderful!

Even in the rain, there is something tres magnifique about Paris.

And you can't talk about Paris with out Laduree's macarons - one of my favorite things ever.

Where are you wishing you were this Summer?

Happy Friday!

Love Through the Ages

"All you need is love."

~John Lennon & Paul McCartney

In Glamour's most recent issue they have a section with love tips from 9 year olds and 99 year olds.  I just love the little pieces of advice and the glimpses into love throughout the ages!

Love is in the Air!

At the touch of love everyone becomes a poet...
-- Plato

Love is definitely in the air today.  All around the office, at lunch and even on Twitter / Facebook you can definitely feel the buzz!

With all this love & joy going around, we just had to put together some inspiration for a Valentine's Day wedding.  Don't you just love those red heels?

Note the heart shaped stirrers in picture #7 - too cute!

And if you haven't yet, make sure you tell those special people in your life (not just your significant others!) that you love them.  A simple 'I love you' text can turn around someone's day!

Hope everyone has a Happy Valentine's Day!

On Valentine's Day (yes, it's next Monday for those who forgot...), Anthroplogie is launching their new wedding collection!  I don't know about you, but I can't wait to see what they have to offer!

I can only assume they'll stick with their overall vintage look for the wedding dresses and unveil some gorgeous lace and classic looks.  Plus who can resist the perfect timing of a release on the day of love?!

Here's what I imagine as a perfect theme for a wedding inspired by Anthropologie:
